Computer Q&A Roundtable discussion. There is no set agenda. Participants are encouraged to bring questions and problems to the group for discussion and, hopefully, solutions. Discussion will be led by George Hefferon. We’ll also have a brief ‘how-to’ on spring cleaning your computer – take it apart, dust it out, maybe install more memory. Led by Bruce Preston. 3:30pm at SRMS
Ever make a math error in your return? Forgot to carry something between schedules? Missed an important change in the tax laws? Come and explore the most popular tax preparation software. Bring your questions and suggestions. Will also briefly cover the H&R Block product. Session led by Jon Elkow. 3:30pm at SRMS
The session will be led by some folks from the Ridgefield Press and will explain how they use Facebook and Twitter, as well as websites, as part of their distribution of news and information. It will show how to set up a Facebook and Twitter account, how to “follow” people and organizations on both, how to create a special Facebook page (such as Old Ridgefield or, if it involves a business, The Ridgefield Press). We can also discuss forums and blogs. For those who are interested, there will be a brief tour available of The Press office (not all that exciting, but it shows how computers have taken over as news tools).
Have trouble getting your ‘stuff’ together to do your taxes? Wonder how much you spent (or your significant other spent) on ???? during the year? Forget to pay the electric bill? Come get an overview of this popular home (and business) finance software. Led by Jon Elkow. 3:30pm at SRMS
Need to make more room in the attic or garage? Or have some room for more stuff? See all the things you can get or get rid of by using Ebay, an internet ‘auction’ site. See what Bruce Preston means when he says in his presentations, “you can get that on Ebay pretty inexpensively”. This will be led by Bruce. 3:30pm at SRMS
Designed to get someone started in this digital photo editing program. We’ll very basically go over some of the capabilities of Elements and how you can use it to keep track of your photo library, and make those pictures look like what you thought they were when you took them. Will be led by Roger Scott. 3:30pm at SRMS
Excepting for the March 12th Social Networking session, all of these will be at Scott’s Ridge Middle School, Room 357, at 3:30pm.
