First Gourmet Dinner for the year 2010/11 is September 22!

The gourmets get together to enjoy dinner or lunch at a variety of local restaurants. They spend the first hour meeting and socializing over cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. The second portion of the event is a sit-down meal consisting of a salad, one of a selection of entrees and finishing with coffee or tea and dessert. The cost is a single price for the hors d'oeuvres and meal. A cash bar is available for refreshments. All RMC Members and their spouses are invited to signup as well as those men who are candidates for membership (on the wait list) and widows of deceased members. The sign ups are on a first come basis as sometimes there is a limit on the number of people that can attend any one event.

The gourmets generally hold eight dining events each year, scheduled for January through April and July through October. No events are scheduled for May and June to avoid conflict with the RMC Ladies Luncheon in early June and no events are scheduled for November and December because of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and the RMC Ladies Luncheon in early December. Dining events are well attended, typically having 45 to 55 in attendance with up to 80 to 90 if the restaurant can accommodate that many. The dinners/luncheons are usually planned for the 4th Wednesday of the month. Luncheons generally begin at 11:30 am and dinners at 5 pm.
During 2009, the gourmets met and dined at seven restaurants. These were Bernard's, Le Chateau, Chuck's Steakhouse, NINO's, L'Europe, Two Steps Downtown and Hopkins Inn.
